DLP's Good Record of Achievement in a RecessionSome naive and uninformed Barbadians think that despite the harsh, global economic recession, Owen Arthur has a special magic wand that he will wave, shout 'abracadabra', and all our problems will go away. Money (I do not know from where) will flow into Barbados and into their pockets; debt will vanish; employment would stare them in the face; VAT will return to 15% (it has risen to 20% in Great Britain - {the Great has dropped out of Great Britain} and that country is on the decline); all food prices will fall; petroleum prices will plummet; and milk and honey will flow, while 'manna' will fall from heaven. Well, if they are silly enough to vote BLP, they will be in for a rude awakening. God Help Us!
I am sure Barack Obama (still under the veil of a fiscal cliff), David Cameron, Francois Hollande, Antonis Samaras, MarioMonti, and closer to home, Kamla Persad Bissessar, Ralph Gonsalves, Kenny Anthony and Portia Simpson, as well as Christine LaGarde and the President of the CDB,would like to get their hands on that special magic wand Owen has. He may have a bag of tricks and gimmicks (as Professor Michael Howard has said) that could be played out on a simple, gullible electorate, who feel he can turn around the fortunes of Barbados and the world. We must tell him that Talk Is Cheap! We live in a Real World. This is not 1994. Click here to read more.
